Industry: Government organisations & statutory boards, private sector clients in finance, aviation, etc.

Work done: Research, interviews, and writing copy for print and digital annual reports.

Notes: I’ve worked on numerous annual reports for various government agencies and MNCs. Each one has been equal parts challenging yet rewarding.

Annual Reports

National Environment Agency, Singapore

In 2012, I worked alongside a team of designers and developers to come up with content for the National Environment Agency of Singapore’s annual report. Each section was structured after some of the organisation’s core pillars, namely Safeguard, Nurture, and Cherish. Working on this annual report was research intensive, so I had the opportunity to familiarise myself with plenty of scientific terms and jargon for use in my writing.

International Property Office of Singapore (IPOS)

IPOS prides itself on using its intellectual property expertise and networks to grow innovative enterprises in Singapore. As such, inspiring trust is one of their key focuses. Keeping that in mind, I crafted content for their annual report in a similar vein - using a tone that was professional, relatable yet assuring.

Singapore Labour Foundation

This annual report for the Singapore Labour Foundation was particularly memorable for me. Apart from writing about their achievements and goals for the upcoming year, I also had the chance to interview beneficiaries of their financial support schemes and educational assistance programmes. The stories behind the journeys of these everyday Singaporeans were inspiring and it was a joy sharing their experiences through words. It definitely aided in highlighting SLF as a people-first foundation, and presented them as being responsible and relatable.
